What to Expect
Weather
The climate in Southern Arizona can be unpredictable.
Spring and Fall are the most comfortable weather seasons. Temperatures
are generally warm, 70-80's and up, 40-50's at night. During
winter months it can be cooler, 50-60's in the daytime, and nighttime
lows can reach freezing. Summer is hot and wet as it is out rainy season. The desert becomes a green landscape. Highs in the upper 90's, lows in the 70's and 80's.
Itinerary Changes
Adventure travel
is exactly as the name implies: an adventure!
Although every attempt
is made to adhere
to published itineraries, participants need to acknowledge and
willingly accept the possibility of unexpected route and itinerary
changes due to factors beyond the control of the outfitter - or
just because it's more fun!
Suitability/Rider Experience
We use Quarter Horses and
match each horse to the rider's experience. Our horses have been
trained and chosen for their endurance and ability to handle the
rocky and varied terrain that we ride through. Due to the terrain
and long hours in the saddle, it's important to spend some time
riding in preparation for the trip. Most trips are designed for riders with some experience. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to call us.
Suggested Arrival Time:
If you are flying into Tucson (closest airport)
and are requesting a pick up- there will be one pick up time of
2 p.m. we will coordinate with you to pick up all guest at the airport
as close to that time as possible.
Camping on Trail
Our camp sites will be made along the trail in
beautiful grassy canyon and valleys. Range style teepee tents are
used for their versatility, or you may choose to just pick a nice
spot and sleep under the stars.
Note: We use standard size sleeping
bags that are rated at +20 degrees and they are wrapped in a cowboy
bedroll tarp with a pad underneath and a pillow. The bedroll tarp
adds two layers under you and two above you for added warmth and
protection from the elements.
